Halbert Brothers, Inc., established in 1933 by Harold and Wesley Halbert, provides unique service capabilities to industries throughout the nation. These capabilities consists of performing machinery moving and rigging services as well as heavy hauling, specialized transportation, millwright, hoisting and machinery storage service. Halbert Brothers, Inc. maintains a six-acre equipment yard and warehouse in the City of Industry. Our City of Industry facility, consisting of over 140,000 square feet of inside storage is equipped with a superb multi-overhead crane system. The overhead crane system is made up of eight units with capacities of 2 tons to 60 tons each. Our facility houses over 150 units of motorized and /or rolling equipment used daily to support highly trained rigging and machinery moving crews. Over the past 70 years the company has pioneered innovative engineering methods that have become standards within today's industry. With tremendous foresight the company has led the industry in establishing training programs that have produced highly talented and qualified personnel who believe safety comes first. A 24-hour customer service system allows trained and experienced personnel to be available to assist customer's needs, and to dispatch personnel and equipment as required. Halbert Brothers, Inc. has developed a highly regarded reputation within many industries including the graphic arts and printing industry, aerospace, utility plants, chemical plants, as well as an endless variety of others. Machinery Moving
Halbert Brothers, Inc. maintains a fleet of trucks and heavy-duty semi tractors that combine with special heavy-duty trailers custom designed to transport machinery. The dynamics of Halbert Brothers transportation equipment, augmented by air ride suspension, allows the company to haul extremely heavy loads while protecting fragile items such as electrical and computerized components built into today's machinery. Our machinery -moving personnel must complete a comprehensive apprentice program of no less than three years. The program produces a truck operator who has the ability to load and off-load as well as the expertise to move machinery into buildings or to final placement points. Hauling oversized loads which require special height, weight, width or length permits have become a common event over the company's past 70 years experience.

Rigging/Erecting
Halbert Brothers, Inc. maintains a division of rigging personnel experienced in relocating and erecting machinery, industrial equipment and very fragile items. Past experience ranges from single hoisting and forklift work to placement of super heavy items utilizing our 400-ton capacity gantry crane. Our reputation of providing customers with safe and highly skilled work has become a determining factor in receiving extremely critical rigging jobs. Such jobs include the moving of priceless statues and artwork as well as precision aerospace machinery and highly fragile x-ray units.

Plant Maintenance
Experienced machinist and millwrights are available to perform heavy-duty maintenance projects.

Maintenance capabilities are as follows:

-Printing press maintenance and mechanical overhaul.
-Oil leak problems solved.
-Replacement of bearings, seals, O'rings, journals and cylinders.
-Re-leveling, re-alignment and tramming of existing machinery.
-Certified welding.
-Machinery disassembly and re-assembly.

Millwright and Assembly
Halbert Brothers, Inc. rounds out its machinery moving and rigging capabilities with a highly skilled level of experienced millwrights and machinists. Millwrights and machinists allow the company the opportunity to provide dismantling and assembly service as well as precision leveling and turnkey machinery placement services. Trained and experienced technicians assemble such items as printing machinery & food processing equipment. They complete the installation by performing precision leveling within critical tolerance.

Heavy Hauling / Flat Bed Trucking
Dropped center, low bed, beaver tail, multi-axle and custom hydraulic semi trailers allow Halbert Brothers, Inc. the ability to move a variety of specialty loads. For over 70 years Halbert Brothers, Inc. has been called upon to transport challenging items such as extremely large and heavy structures as well as extremely fragile items. Such challenges have resulted in the transportation of large machines, tanks, transformers, statues, monuments and mechanisms such as flight simulators. Halbert Brothers, Inc. maintains a fabrication shop where custom items required for individual special transportation challenges are engineered and manufactured.

Warehousing / Storage / Crating
Halbert Brothers, Inc. mantains a warehousing and crating facility. The warehouses are designed to facilitate our machinery moving services. Special drive-through, covered bays have been designed to accept loaded trucks. This feature allows overnight storage to protect exposed machinery loaded on flat bed trailers. In addition, the warehouses are equipped with an overhead crane system that facilitates up to a 60-ton capacity. Machinery is transported and placed within the warehouse for storage or for crating and preparation for shipment. Such preparation consists of skidding and packing for export as well as cross-country transfer.
